Let me just say that I hate my voice. Yeah I am in ST but it still hard. I am 21 years old ( Age wise) but I can not say my own name its a struggle and no I can not do phonics. Despite all of this I understand everything, ok so not chemistry but not everyone understands it, what that means is that I do not have an intellectual disability. Its like an invisible brick wall , yeah I know walls can not be invisible but its a metaphor with a fantasy twist . I know what I want but when I try to get it I hit my head on a brick wall. Totally not fun:( .
This makes ordering food really hard sometimes people can understand my speech and either make the food or help me tell the person . Well the past few days at my college dinning hall the chiefs have not been understanding me that well. Earlier today I had speech and we came up with writing the word down on the notes feature of my I-Phone . Well , as I went back to the dinning room after speech for a evening class , I wrote down Cheese burger and garlic fries as a back up plain. There was a severe there lets call them A. It was fairly busy so they called another person to help B. Well I have worked with A before but she was having a hard time understanding me I'd say she understands about 70% of what I say; however, I had never met B before. B ends up helping me. Between the two of them they understand that I want a Cheeseburger and B starts one on the grill, I tried to tell them I wanted American Cheese but neither one understands me. So I write it on my phone and show B he calls A over and A helps him I look over and sure enough there is some American cheese on the grill. I look down and hear a smirk. I think that someone made fun of my speech the worst part is A is the manager.
Told my parents and they did not seem to see why I was so mad. I am mad because I think they made fun of my speech. I am mad because I want to be able to say what I want and have people understand the first time. I am mad because sometimes I am so Frigen tired of repeating and trying to be understood. I am mad because I hate when people think that I am too dumb to notice if they laugh. Good think book girl and Soccer man understand.

The Return of Sunday Grains of Gradtitude
So Sunday grains of Gratitude is back. I have not done this for a while, but I read them recently and I really liked reading about the little things that happened week to week I like re reading them.
- I survived Winter break . It was two weeks between my sister return to mine . These two weeks have been home alone for most of the day without a routine so it gets boring. I did well but am looking forward to going back to school on Tuesday.
- I helped take down the Christmas stuff and did a great job by myself now all the boxes are down.
- I went to a soccer game at my high school. The team tied when they should have won and thus Mr C did not want to talk to me that much. That was discouraging but then I am disabled teen and he had a newborn baby and his wife but at least I talked to Mr,MCG ( AP us history teacher) Mr C wanted to talk to one of the older soccer player which made me feel invisible but i am disabled so it is ok.
- I got to see LM. I went to his house after the soccer game ( much too my dad not so best wishes) and on Sat I got a ride with him and his friend who also has DS. We had a fun time even though they were messing with me ( our high schools are ,or in my case former high schools,) rivals.
- I went to 2 basketball practice. On sat it was rrc special Olympics and today was the hmb pre practice. I think we will have a great season . At today's pre practice I helped one a kid who is my age with CP sooo cool. This Saturday is the first practice so I will take pics then. If anyone who is reading this and lives in the area hmb is far but it is worth it.
- I am doing grains of Gratitude again
- I went out to lunch with my mom Saturday afternoon.
- For MLK he made my life so much better . As an American American disabled female his work impacts me soo much, I watch the Imitation of life and it was interesting to see the hate between a child and her mother due to skin tone. I hated the girl by the way I was that into the movie

Happy Mothers day
we had a fun day today we went to a restaurant worked on gardening and saw Iron Man 2
. One more thing from Ellen and max
1. Because we never thought that “doing it all” would mean doing this much. But we do it all, and then some.
2. Because we’ve discovered patience we never knew we had.
3. Because we are willing to do something 10 times, 100 times, 1,000 times if that’s what it takes for our kids to learn something new.
4. Because we have heard doctors tell us the worst, and we've refused to believe them. TAKE THAT, nay-saying doctors of the world.
5. Because we have bad days and breakdowns and bawl-fests, and then we pick ourselves up and keep right on going.
6. Because we gracefully handle the stares, the comments, the rude remarks. Well, mostly gracefully.
7. Because we manage to get ourselves together and get out the door looking pretty damn good. Heck, we even make sweatpants look good.
8. Because we are strong. Man, are we strong. Who knew we could be this strong?
9. Because we aren’t just moms, wives, cooks, cleaners, chauffeurs, women who work. We are moms, wives, cooks, cleaners, chauffeurs, women who work, physical therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, teachers, researchers, nurses, coaches, and cheerleaders. Whew.
10. Because we work overtime every single day.
11. Because we also worry overtime, but we work it through. Or we eat chocolate or Pirate's Booty or gourmet cheese, which aren't reimbursable by insurance as mental-health necessities but should be.
12. Because we are more selfless than other moms. Our kids need us more.
13. Because we give our kids with special needs endless love, and then we still have so much love left for our other kids, our husbands, our family. And our hairstylist, of course.
14. Because we inspire one another in this crazy blogosphere every single day.
15. Because we understand our kids better than anyone else—even if they can’t talk, even if they can’t gesture, even if they can't look us in the eye. We know. We just know.
16. Because we never stop pushing for our kids.
17. Because we never stop hoping for them, either.
18. Because just when it seems like things are going OK, they're suddenly not OK, but we deal. Somehow, we always deal, even when it seems like our heads or hearts might explode.
19. Because when we look at our kids we just see great kids. Not "kids with cerebral palsy/autism/Down syndrome/developmental delays/whatever label."
20. Because, well, you tell me.
az answer. Because You are always involved in IEP and advocating for us kids

Happy Valentines Day memories from long ago
Well on friday I did not get any candy lays like last year but there was a rally and to my delight I got to play knockout and lost. Knock out is a basketball game in case u do not know. Anyway Happy Vanities Day well a day early. I might post pics of what I do tomorrow on vanities day with my mom (as my two sister are playing V ball in las vegas with their travel team anyway happy V day everyone.
I remember when I was in elementary school I got to celebrate the holidays with my class ( I was complete mainstreamed in grade school) we would make little mailboxes and bags and everyone had the option to make valentines day cards. If you made some back in elementary school you had to give them to everyone which I think was preaty standard back then.
In sixth grade all the kids from my grade( I was in middle school) got to go to a party in the gym with the whole pod that was very fun.

Battle of the bay
Today I went to the cal Stanford women's basketball game. The game was called battle of the bay because they are both located in the SF bay area. My family met up with a family friend at the Maples pavillonwho have four girls who are younger then princess and one who is my brother's age. (I think the girl has a crush on laid back athlete) I was rooting for Stanford because my dad went there for med school and my siblings and I have been to a lot of camps there. Standford beat Cal 79-58. I thought I saw ms A but I never got close enough to tell.
After the game we went to Star bucks with the family we went to the game with I had a fun day even if the youngest beat me in war.

Best doctor's visit ever
Yesterday I had a Dr's visit. It was at the teen clinic at UCSF. the place where my mom works. it was my first time in the clinic and guess what I actually want to go back why. The attendant was really nice and we talked about school and stuff . My mom said we were in there way too long. Mom was in there for the entire afternoon. Then the doctor came in and we all talked and guess what I might speak to the medical students about being a teenager with disabilities and in a few weeks I will get a cool new blog about a young adult with a disability (cp to be exact) who goes to UC Berkley. I can not wait especially since I am about to make that big transition myself. wow
